Family Time...Part 2

Last night I left you with a teeser...We only made it through day 2.  Well, we went on with our week, and Tuesday we made an adventure of the Chuck E Cheese kind.  OK, I am so over all of the ding, ding, ding and "Can I have some more money?"  One of my friends said it is a little kids casino, and I have to think she is right.  I was a nervous wreck, and the Little Man made sure I stayed that way.

The kids had a great time, and it was a fun way to spend a rainy Tuesday.

Wednesday, we tried to go to the pool.  As soon as we got there, the bottom fell out.  I mean, everyone was in the pool, maybe all of 15 minutes.  Not even enough time to get good and wet!  We came on home, and everyone enjoyed a picnic on the porch that we prepared to eat at the pool.  Good times were had, and memories made, and that is all that counts!  Later that evening, we celebrated Makenzie's late birthday, and she got to pick out what we had for dinner.  Wouldn't you know that when in Mississippi, we must do as Mississippians do.  She picked fried chicken, mashed potatoes, Cole slaw and I imposed on them to have collard greens. If we are going to do it, we might as well do it right! We also had homemade rolls!  It was great fun, and she again had a Mississippi birthday!

Thursday, I had to work.  I left the house bright and early and made a trip to Memphis.  Scott stayed home to play with us, and Elise had to watch ALL the children.  We did go to the lake in the afternoon, and too our pontoon boat out one last time.  I am not sure why, but Scott has decided we don't need it anymore, and it is officially for sale!

The lake is always great fun.  We all donned our life jackets and headed out for a good time!

 Aren't they beautiful!

Everyone had fun!  Even the Little Man!!!

He loves the lake!  He just get tired of the life jacket!

Friday snuck up on us really fast! Scott took Harrison out to see how many fish they could talk into giving up.  You guessed it, none.  Our hopes of a fish fry died as soon as they returned home with a bucket full of crickets!

Since Pickles birthday party was Saturday, I had a very important cake to bake.  I got the cake into the oven early in the morning, but it seemed to take forever to cool.  While we let the cake cool, we all took a much needed nap!  I find it funny that as much as they think they don't need rest, they are in a much better mood afterward.  Part of the deal was if they wanted to see Cars 2, we had to rest first!  I must admit that Cars 2 was so cute, and had a ton of funny lines.  I think I enjoyed it more that the children did!

Friday night, we celebrated Jordan's unbirthday and she was able to chose her dinner.  Per Harrison's request, it was fancy with China and all!  Jordan picked mini-meat loaves with brown gravy, mashed potatoes with gravy and I forced upon them to eat green beans.  We had to have something that wasn't swimming in gravy!

I don't know where the last week went, but by Friday night we had a few little ones upset that Makenzie was staying with us for a while.  I am so glad to have her, and she will have a fantastic time!

Saturday, we celebrated Pickle's birthday.  Since the week before was so crazy, we put it off until the weekend after.  She had a great time, despite the low turnout.  It was fun to have the skating rink with just a few friends and even Elise and I skated!

The Birthday Girl wipes out!  What a great time she had!

The Little Man loved skating!  It didn't take him too long to get the hang of it once the wheels were tightened.  I think we need some around the house...he couldn't run!

Pickles and Savannah enjoying a Coke break with Daddy!

 Sisters...enough said.

And she wiped out!

Sisters...They had a great time skating!

Birthday cake!

Concentration is a must!

Izzy and her new friend Skating Minnie!

He took the skates off, and he was off to the races!

I was completly exhausted at the end of the week, and could have slept all day today, but I wouldn't trade a moment of the fun!  Even with the children and their moments of boredom, we had a great time, and I can't wait until we get to do it again!

Until next time, keep adventuring and looking for joy in the small details of life!

Sarah
