So, to continue with our weekend adventure, we all were a little slow moving Sunday morning. It is no surprise that we slept in a little later since the time changed, and the Little Man was up until 10:30 the night before. My early birds slept in until 8:30! Only one problem, we had too much to do for lunch and the Little Man's party to make it to church. We hurried around, and Elise and I started making lunch. She planned the menu of Enchiladas, rice, beans and chips with both queso and salsa. What a fabulous fiesta we enjoyed. I taught her to make enchilada sauce, and everyone loved it! I hope they did, as my family is always complimentary!
It seemed like we were behind all morning. Makenzie and I made a quick trip to the grocery store for ice cream and few staples we needed. We barely had the grocery unpacked my brother David, and his wife Julie, along with their two beautiful little ones and my Dad arrived. The Little Man tackled my sweet niece Emma, and thought that she was so delicious! He couldn't get enough of her kisses! She didn't know what to think of all the attention. They were so sweet, and cute.
Shortly after their arrival, Harrison, my nephew, knew he had two suckers that would give in and fix his Doodlebug. He convinced David and Dad to replace the springs he had removed that control the throttle. It was nice for them to have a project to work on while we finished up in the kitchen!
Sunday was a fabulous day for lunch, celebrating the Little Man's birthday and enjoying family! Our family is so amazing and everyone had a fabulous time. Grandpa Mark wore a smile the entire afternoon! He loved having his Great-grandchildren laughing and having a great time with each other! According to Pickles, the best part was sliding with Uncle Lynndell and Aunt Sherry. I love how they are still kids at heart! They are the best!
The Little Man was so tired, but refused to give up and take a nap. Aunt B finally convinced him to snuggle with her and Harrison's tractor, and he was out like a light! It is amazing how much better he was after a 45 minute nap!
We also enjoyed a visit by one of my oldest friends, Amber and her youngest daughter Jaycee. They weren't able to make the party, but came by later and spent some quality time just relaxing.
After so much fun, Pizza was on the menu for the night. We went and picked up take-out and continued the party! The children played all day, and had a great time with their cousins!
Knowing we had to pack up and drive home Monday morning, we were all sad to pack up our bags. My sister had told her children that we were going to the Omniplex on Monday, we had to follow through. We got up early and arrived just as they were opening. We definitely enjoyed the museum, and our time there. The pictures will tell the rest of the story!
We arrived back in Mississippi safe and sound Monday night, and have loved reliving the fabulous adventure we enjoyed. It was a quick trip, and we can't wait to go back and see everyone again soon!
Until next time, keep adventuring and looking for joy in the small details of life!
